He started paying attention towards the poor when he went to a hospital in Africa to see patients with TB. She said that Bill called her from the spot and he was half crying. In his tour of the hospital, he observed the bad condition of people. There was no one asking about their health and welfare. It was like someone has given them the death penalty. They will die lying there and no one will ask them about how they are feeling. This was the moment in the life of Bill Gates that turned his attention towards the poor people. This is when Bill promised himself that he will help these people from now onwards.

Furthermore, she also reported that the aim of Bill was to expand IT to all parts of the world. He soon realized that until unless he do not work on health and education of poor people, It is very important to armor these people with the weapon of education otherwise they will not know how to use latest technology. Therefore, "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation" came into being.

These days, the foundation is spending millions of dollars regularly to help these people and to include them in this fast moving world.
