In 2003, the servers of Google went down for 5 minutes and adverse effects were seen on the internet. It is reported that in these 5 minutes, the traffic of the internet was reduced to 40%. This means that in 2003, Google was carrying about 40% of the total internet traffic! According to different resources, Google faced the loss of about $46,000. There was continuous reduction in the traffic of the internet. The reason, why servers went down, was not told by Google to its users.
The Google is most used search engine on the internet and there is no doubt that people mostly prefer using Google to locate different things. In 2009, Google faced shut down for the second time but this time it lasted for only a few moments.
