Rio DE Janeiro-FIFA banned Uruguay striker Luis Suarez for nine international matches and barred him from playing any football match international or club for 4 months over biting an Italian footballer during a world cup match.
The heaviest punishment ever on a player at a worldcup finals effectively booted Suarez out of the Tournament in shame following his clash with Italian Giorgia Chiellini on Tuesday.
It was the thrd time that the 27 year old striker,one of the most brilliant footballers in the history,but also one of the most temperamental ,has been banned for biting an opponent.
The nine match ban would be ruling him out of the Uruguay's world cup campaign and he wouldn't be appearing in Uruguay's second round match against Columbia on Saturday.
As part of the ban on football activities,Suarez will not be allowed inside the stadium for four months and was also fined $112,000.
FIFA said that Suarez was told of the ban on Thursday.Uruguayan officials had previously insisted that there has been not enough evidence against him .
Suarez bit Cheillini in a match against Italy in which Uruguay emerged victorious by 1-0.
